Tango (platform)

Tango (named Project Tango while in testing) was an augmented reality computing platform, developed and authored by the Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP), a skunkworks division of Google.

美國科技大廠 Google 旗下的先進技術與計畫部門 (Advanced Technology and Projects,ATAP) 在近日推出名為 Project Tango 的計畫， 藉由特別設計的智慧型裝置來感測周遭環境並建置 3D 模型。 這款裝置內涵 400 萬畫素相機、動作偵測攝影機、深度感測器等。

Tango is complementary to the traditional types of location data used by Google, with the addition of the motion tracking camera, area learning, and depth sensor.

Project Tango是Google在 2014年3月公佈的AR專案，透過將智慧型手機配備3D相機、電腦視覺處理器、深度感測器，以及動作追蹤攝影機等，可用來追蹤環境空間並呈現3D影像，可能的運用方式包括幫助盲人、導航或打造沈浸式遊戲體驗。

Tango 專案介紹 美國宇航局 (nasa)的太空飛船上，2014年7月11日進行發射Orbital-2，並且搭載Google project tango項目的3d環境感應智能手機，這些手機將成為國際空間站中NASA spheres機器人的的眼睛和耳朵。

實際上，Google已經推出了Tango計畫，而它不只即將讓AR技術貼近我們的生活，甚至很可能會改變已經僵化許久的手機市場，開啟智慧型手機的新生態。
